As a young child, Britney Spears appeared in dance revues and church choirs. Backed by her manager mother, Britney auditioned for the TV series, The Mickey Mouse Club (1989) , in Atlanta. But Britney was only eight, and was therefore too young to participate. However, a producer on the show helped Britney secure an agent in New York City, where she spent three summers studying at the Off-Broadway Dance Center and at the Professional Performing Arts School. She appeared in numerous commercials and Off-Broadway shows until at age 11, Britney earned her spot in "Mickey Mouse Club." (1993-1994).

After two or three years, she began singing and she was signed as a Jive Recording Artist. Spears entered the studio with top producers like Eric Foster (Whitney Houston) and Max Martin (Backstreet Boys). With the release of her debut album, "...Baby One More Time," on January 12, 1999, Britney became an international success, selling 13 million copies. It entered the charts at number one and stayed there for six weeks. Her Top Ten singles are "(You Drive Me) Crazy and “From the Bottom of My Broken Heart."

Britney dated Justin Timberlake since 1998, and they broke up in 2002.

Her sophomore album, "Oops!...I Did It Again," was released on 16 May of 2000. The album also entered the charts at number one and sold over a million copies in its first week of release and over nine million copies in July 2001. Her hot singles were "Oops!...I Did It Again’’ and "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know,".

For her next album, “Britney”, released on November 6, 2001, Britney tried to present the singer as a more mature young woman, and was accompanied by mild hints that her personal life wasn't always completely puritanical. It became her third straight album to debut at number one, although this time around the singles weren't as successful; "I'm Not a Girl, Not Yet a Woman," and "Overprotected" all missed the Top Ten.

Her fourth album, “In The Zone”, released on November 18, 2003 was featured a collaboration with Madonna, "Me Against The Music".

In 2004, we had also seen the release of “Toxic”. The track was accompanied by a raunchy video and raced to number one in the UK. It was followed by the succesful release of “Everytime”.

In 2004, Britney managed to get married twice. On January 3 , she married childhood friend, “Jason Alexander,” in Las Vegas. After just over two days, the marriage was annulled. Shortly after she became engaged to “Kevin Federline,” her former dancer . They married On September 18, in a private ceremony in Los Angeles.

Other Works :

- In 2001, Britneys accepted an endorsement from Pepsi to do TV commercials promoting the soft drink. The first commercial was slated for the 2001 Academy Awards. Her Deal with Pepsi will net her upwards of$10,000,000 million.

- Around the time of her third album, Britney Spears appeared in her debut film “Crossroads” (2002) , starring with Justin Long.

- She launched her own line of perfume called “Curious” in fall 2004. It was one of the best selling fragrances of 2004.
